Supporting Disabled Refugees at the Nexus Center
'I came that they may have life and have it abundantly' John10:10b
Background
The Nexus Center, a partner ministry of dia-LOGOS, provides education and vital services to refugees displaced by war in Lebanon. Many of these refugees face additional challenges due to disabilities.
Hayat's Story:
Hayat, a young refugee with a disability, struggled to find acceptance and support. The Nexus Center provided her with a welcoming environment, education, and a renewed sense of hope. However, her condition requires ongoing medical care, physiotherapy, and accessible transportation – resources her family cannot afford.
Project Goals:
The Aim:
To raise at least $500.00 per month (R10,000.00) to support refugees with disabilities who are currently in the care of the Nexus staff and volunteers. The first $100.00 (R2,000.00) raised every month will go to Hayat and her family to pay for transport, physiotherapy, and other needs. The additional funds will be used to support families of other children with disabilities.
