Project Hope lebanon
The catastrophic escalation in Lebanon has shattered a population already broken by cumulative crises. The UN (OCHA) confirms that those impacted are now enduring the worst humanitarian crisis in decades.
Continuous strikes have leveled critical infrastructure and completely severed essential services, pushing food insecurity and poverty to unprecedented levels. The massive wave of internal displacement, coupled with a paralyzed economy, has created a desperate reality that demands immediate, life-saving intervention.
Since the major escalation on March 2, 2026, Lebanon has been plunged into its most severe humanitarian crisis in decades. In just over six weeks of intense conflict, the death toll has surpassed 2,100, with more than 6,900 injured. This follows a year of persistent cross-border violence that had already claimed 1,800 lives, bringing the total loss of life since late 2023 to nearly 4,000 people.

a sacrafice of love: the church in action
From the first day of this emergency, the Church in Lebanon has stood as a beacon of hope. Individual believers and congregations have thrown open their doors, turning homes and sanctuaries into places of refuge. We have seen families living on meager rations themselves take in as many as nine displaced families, sharing their last bits of food with the starving and malnourished. This is the body of Christ in its most beautiful, sacrificial form—but their resources are exhausted.
the tragedy of april 2026
The situation reached a horrific peak on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, now known as "Black Wednesday." In a single 10-minute window, over 100 targets across Lebanon were struck. This short burst of violence killed at least 357 people and wounded over 1,200. The immediate loss of life in those ten minutes exceeded the death toll of the 2020 Beirut port explosion, marking it as one of the deadliest single events in modern Lebanese history.
