The escalation of the conflict in Lebanon is further deepening the vulnerability of a population already burdened by cumulative crises while the UN aid coordination office, OCHA, warned that all those impacted “are enduring the worst humanitarian crisis in decades”.

The ongoing conflict in Lebanon has severely disrupted essential services and damaged critical infrastructure, leading to significant increases in food insecurity and poverty.

The combination of internal displacement and the existing economic and political crises has drastically worsened living conditions, necessitating urgent intervention.

current situation

In September 2024, large-scale cross-border attacks escalated in Lebanon, causing over 1,000 deaths and 6,352 injuries in less than two weeks. This brings the total to more than 1,800 killed and 9,100 injured since October 2023.

REFUGEES

1,2 MILLION internally displaced persons (IDPs)

FOOD INSECURE

At the end of 2023, it was estimated that more than 50% of the population was living below the poverty line. Furthermore, 9 out of 10 Syrian refugees could not meet their most basic needs.

56.6% of the current IDP and refugee population in Lebanon are children.

IMMEDIATE RESPONSE
Since the first day of the current emergency, the church and individual believers opened their homes and church buildings to accommodate the influx of displaced people, some taking in up to nine families and sharing their meager food rations, with the starving and malnourished.

As an immediate emergency response we consolidated resources with the local Church and partners, distributing essential food parcels consisting of:

Beans - Flour - Sugar - Coffee/tea - Oil - Rice - Milk - Salt

Scaling Up Food Delivery in Lebanon
As the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon continues to worsen, with approximately 2.5million people in need of urgent humanitarian food assistance. We recognize the importance of scaling up our relief efforts.

To prepare for this expansion, we have established strategic partnerships with key organizations to ensure the efficient delivery of essential food parcels.

Crisis Response Network (CRN): Collaborating with CRN enables us to leverage their expertise in crisis response and expand our reach to affected communities.

Churches in Beirut: Partnering with local churches in Beirut allows us to tap into their existing networks and deliver food supplies to families in need.

Ministries in the Beqaa Valley: Our partnership with ministries in the Beqaa Valley enables us to reach remote areas and provide essential food supplies to vulnerable populations.

Lebanese Red Cross (LRC): We are proud to partner with the Lebanese Red Cross, a renowned humanitarian organization, to help sustain their ambulance, blood, primary health and relief services

FOOD PARCEL DELIVERY

The food parcels are carefully designed to meet the nutritional needs of families affected by the crisis. Each parcel contains essential food items, including:

  • Non-perishable food items
  • Protein Sources
  • Whole Grains

We urge you to consider supporting the Church in Lebanon during this difficult time. Your donation will make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by the crisis.

All donations will be divided equally among our partners and will be subject to our transparent and audited financial processes. Importantly, 100% of the donated funds will go directly to the intended recipients, as our organization does not retain any portion for administrative or operational purposes. We appreciate your trust in our organization and our commitment to supporting the Church in Lebanon.

The average cost of a food parcel is USD$42 and we require USD$50 000 to extend our assistance to the end of the year.
