THOUGHTS ON ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT AND NEW WORLD ORDERS

The topic of a One World Government and a new world order, have long fascinated me especially as I read only Christian authors in my early days of accepting Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. This topic was presented in those days as a grand conspiracy involving secrecy and subterfuge.  It was only when I went to study law at UND (UKZN) in 1996 that I discovered while studying Politics that this was no undercover conspiracy theory, it was a clear and open agenda. The previous new world order (which we were living in during the 1990’s) began after WW2 and was an open attempt to create a one-world order to prevent wars like WW1 and 2 from being possible in the future. In the intervening years, we definitely experienced a relative halt on ‘world-changing wars’ but as we can see this situation has changed since the end of the Cold War as global dynamics changed and we moved toward another new and present ‘world order’.  One where the USA will not be purposely protecting the seas and ensuring trade can be entered into, with little risk, by all countries.

Since the beginning of time, imperial wars, scientific advances, discoveries, the agricultural era, the industrial era, the technological era, natural disasters (fires, floods, and droughts), and outbreaks of deadly diseases have been major turning points impacting global politics and economies and have impacted on world orders!

Global politics - our global history, current events and how we can best prepare to face the future fearlessly but purposely to provide hope as Christians is a fascinating subject and something I research constantly from a biblical, political, economic and philosophical point of view and Peter Ziehan’s book: Disunited Nations: The Scramble for Power in an Ungoverned World caught my attention.  In his book he considers what he calls ‘fading regional powers’ like China, Russia, Germany, and Iran’, and the possibility of the collapse of international cooperation pushing France, Turkey, Japan, and Saudi Arabia to the top of international concerns.

In this new age of American isolationism, things may well look very different, and America isn't the only nation stepping back from the international system. From Brazil to Great Britain to Russia, leaders are realising that in the growing disunited chaos, countries, and businesses must prepare for this new every-country-for-itself ethic or find themselves lost in the new world disorder. 2019 May well be the last great year for the ‘world economy’. For generations, everything has been getting faster, better, and cheaper. The globe-spanning supply chains that made this possible are only possible with the protection of the U.S. Navy. The American dollar underpins internationalized energy and financial markets. Complex, innovative industries were created to satisfy American consumers. American security policy forced warring nations to lay down their arms. Billions of people have been fed and educated as the American-led trade system spread across the globe.  All of this was artificial. All this was temporary. All this is ending. This was the ‘new world order’ some Christian’s have railed against for years.

Author and geopolitical strategist Peter Zeihan, in his next book, The End of the World is Just the Beginning, describes a world where countries or regions will have no choice but to make their own goods, grow their own food, secure their own energy, fight their own battles, and do it all with populations that are both shrinking and aging.  This means everything about our world is changing - from how we manufacture products, to how we grow food, to how we keep the lights on, to how we transport goods, to how we pay for it all.

What we know for sure is that no one but God knows exactly what the years ahead will look like but I do believe through thinkers like Zeihan and others He is giving us clues to encourage us to stand and when we have done all - to stand.

This disunited world is what many Christian’s have been praying for so now is not a time for us to be winging about how it inconveniences us.  This is a time to show true grit, roll up our sleeves and make the best of this new world order and the opportunities God intends for us to use for the extension of His kingdom… and of course TO PRAY.
